The founders of VisualML have been working in digital publishing for more than a decade culminating in the VisualML Platform and Module set.  We've worked with 100's of publishers on their digital initiatives over the years (see list here).  The following publishers are the early adopters of our seminal platform:

The MIT Press

MITP selected our Monetizing Website technology for their Cognitive Sciences website, which is currently in private (library) beta.  The resultant website provides:

  • All book and journal content in NLM3.0 XML
  • All content discoverable via search, advanced search and categorized browse
  • Dynamic table of contents for all content, including journal by volume and issue
  • Subscription controlled access for library customers and their patrons
  • Community submitted content for papers stored in XML and immediately discoverable
  • Most popular searches and most viewed documents
  • Community integration for cognitive scientists

Rodale
  • Rodale utilizes the VisualML Connector, Search, Export and Import modules to:
  • Connect their existing Drupal websites such as Bicycling, FitbieMen's Health, and Organic Gardening to MarkLogic Server for all Content
  • Bulk export custom content types (slideshows, stories, etc) to XML on their MarkLogic Server in normalized XML
  • Syndicate their XML to Google, Yahoo!, etc.
  • Search for and find content across their properties
  • Import content from another site into a site for editing and presentation (e.g. Importing a Bicycling article into Men's Health)

Royal Society of Chemistry, The

RSC uses customized Content Acquisition and Curation and Peer & Editorial Collaboration systems to create, edit, and manage their News articles on their Drupal sites.  All content is stored in normalized XML on MarkLogic Server for use across the enterprise.

The Society of Architectural Historians

SAH uses customized Content Acquisition and Curation and Peer & Editorial Collaboration systems to create, edit, and manage their building and work entries: creating a hierarchy of categorized documents (one each for a building) that link to parent works by multiple categories (such as geography, historic title structure, etc).  This system is currently in use internally and will be opened to SAH's entire group of architect-contributors in late 2012.

The University of Virginia Press:UVaP

UVaP provides the MarkLogic system for The Society of Architectural Historians.  They use our Connector module to create the link between the SAH systems and include customized Import module to bulk load the MarkLogic Server with building content converted through a third party process.
